Oh hey,

I’m Alannah! A woman of many things: an online dietitian, a chronically ill girlie, a lover of sunsets, a croissant enthusiast, and someone who always has a bevvy in hand! I’m also the Founder of Thrive As You Dietetics.

I hold space for my kind of humans to understand their conditions and symptoms. Using a whole body approach, we’ll find real nutrition solutions that feel right for you, that free you from your gut dramas, replenish you and reclaim your love story with food.

I’m like you.

I live with chronic, invisible conditions too. For decades, I didn’t know what was going on in my body—because it was just my normal. I pushed through the pain, told myself “others have it worse,” and carried on. What I didn’t realise was that my period pain was severe, my symptoms weren’t “just part of being a woman,” and I was running on fumes while collecting fear, anxiety, and medical trauma along the way

Ten years after my first period, I finally got a laparoscopy and a diagnosis: Endometriosis, [cue the first endo book I ever read]. But that was only the beginning. Chronic pelvic pain, back pain, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, and a list of new labels followed—persistent pelvic pain, hypermobility, and postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS). Like many of you, I had to learn the hard way that answers aren’t quick, care isn’t always accessible, and feeling dismissed cuts deeper than the pain itself.

Here’s the twist:

Somewhere in the middle of all that, I took a nutrition subject. It shook me to my core how little I knew about the food I ate every day. I saw the power in it. I also saw the privilege in even having the space to explore it. That was the start of my journey to becoming a Dietitian. Because my why? It’s simple: to connect with humans like you, share knowledge, and support you to thrive in ways that actually feel possible.

But here’s the thing—I don’t believe in comparing stories. Yours isn’t less valid because mine exists, and mine isn’t less valid because of yours. Every story deserves compassion, an ear that actually listens, and healthcare that meets you where you’re at.

Fast forward to 2025:

After years of navigating systems that weren’t built with us in mind, I’d had a gutful. So, I built Thrive As You Dietetics (TAY’D) — supporting clients as an Online Dietitian. A space that honours lived experience, and makes room for the messy, beautiful, everyday realities of being human.

You may notice that one of my brand values, belonging, encourages us to flip the bird to the trauma left by the system. Because trauma is real, especially clinician-associated traumatisation for humans like you and I. You’re too tired to tell your story or feel like you need to explain yourself one more damn time — it’s no wonder you get to a point where you just… stop engaging with the healthcare system.

That’s why I’ve done everything I can to make Thrive As You intentionally different. I get what it’s like avoiding seeking help because of trauma, not fitting boxes or feeling reflected in the care on offer. Such experiences have shaped how I show up for you in TAY’D, including intentionally not using gendered language, because I know our community is diverse and doesn’t always identify with “women’s health”.

This makes TAY’D deliberately different from many other online clinics, and I can only hope that when you land here, you finally feel like you’ve found your space. TAY’D is a space where all humans who experience endo, pelvic pain, connective tissue conditions, or neurodivergence can feel seen, validated, and represented.

I’m not just an Endometriosis Dietitian—I’m a human who just bloody gets it. I’ve had heat packs have my back when others haven’t. I know how over it you are. I know how tired you are of fighting to be believed. And I know the relief of finally being met with care that makes sense.

At Thrive As You, we help you do just that. Thrive—on your own terms, in your own body, with less fear of food and more trust in yourself.

Humans whose heat packs have their back, when others haven’t. Humans who see you during your daily struggles and are familiar with the grief of their old selves and life. Humans who’ve also had a gut full and want better. With belonging bringing us together, we’ll walk beside you to help find your place with nutrition in this noisy world, promoting safety and healing along the way. We’ll inspire you to connect deeply with yourself and carve out moments of joy and softness in your day—the warmth of the morning sun on your skin, deep belly laughing with friends, the smell of rain on a Sunday–whatever makes you feel alive again.
